distribution list and and reply to all issues.

Hi all,

I setup a distribution list with a number of members/contacts within it.
Some of the contacts (lets call these contacts 'Company A Users') in the
distribution list are local users accounts in active directory which logon
to their pc on the network and the remaining users in the distribution group
are contacts from another domain outside the company (we called these
contacts 'Company B Users')

Problem I am having is, I can send an email to all contacts in the
distruntion list, ie. 'Fanancial Group' and everyone receives the email, but
when a contact in that group does a 'reply to all' they get a 'Sender
address rejected: Access denied.
This only happens to contacts that are not users in AD but just contacts
with their particular valid smtp email been applied.

After testing this e-mail group, I have received confirmation from nearly
all of the members so far. However, the problem is, they cannot do 'Reply
to All' - the reply goes to all except their own staff members.
I have set other distribution list all following the same pattern of
constraction and this group is the only one thats has problems when users do
a reply to all.

Here's a snip from the user from 'Company B Users' that receive the
rejection issues when doing a reply to all:

Final-Recipient: rfc822; (e-mail address removed)
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0 (Permanent failure - no additional status information
available)
Remote-MTA: dns; mail01.schroders.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 <[email protected]>:
Sender address rejected: Access denied

You should probably ask this in an Exchange group, I expect it has to do with
settings on the DL itself, not a function of AD.

Look on the Exchange General tab of the group and verify it is set to Accept
messages from everyone.

Yes messages are accepted from everyone and there is no message size limit
restriction in place as well.
Thx for your response.
