I recently received Office 2003 from Microsoft and installed it. It has a
wonderful feature that i would like to implement in Outlook 2000 and that is
that it does not automatically display pictures (graphics if you will but
the legend says to right click to display pictures and this can be confusing
to some people but i take it to mean graphics.) What i want to do is make
Outlook 2000 not automatically display graphics like Outlook 2003 does.
This is really going to help me with the bosses who are getting these nasty
graphics that they have not requested and don't want to see. This is a
wonderful feature to help defeat the spam problem plus it cuts down on the
bandwidth... Hope someone can help. charlie

Outlook 2000 doesn't support it and there is no way to enable it in Ol2000.
You'll need to upgrade to OL2003.

I can get the Office 2003 licenses for $55 or Outlook 2003 for $15...
Hmmmm. If i get the Outlook licenses will it be possible to install just
Outlook from my existing Office 2003 media CD? Thanks for the info by the
way. I suspected something like that might be the case. charlie

1) if you only upgrade outlook, you lose the ability to use word as the
editor and the office envelope won;t work (the mail button on word and
excels toolbar)
2) not knowing which media you have, it may or may not be possible. If you
have MSDN or a volume copy, it should work. If you have a retail version,
probably not (but it's worth trying). If the key is accepted, it'll work.

I guess it's worth experimenting with on a test computer here that does have
OfficeXP/Outlook2002SP2. I like to go more than one version on my upgrades
here because of the expense. Thanks again, charlie
