I have an excel file in which I have information as
follows:

Patientid dateof Admission Diagnosiscode
xxxx 1/1/1 zzzz
xxxx 1/7/1 ssss
xxxx 6/10/1 pppp

The patient xxxx is the same individual who has been
admitted on three occasions with differant diagnosis's I
want to create a spreadshhet thatwill look like the
following:
Patientid Diag1 Diag2 Diag3
xxxx zzzz ssss pppp

Does anybody know how to do rhis I have 3650 records so
need to somwhow do this with a formula, I have done a
count of how many admissions each person has has, these
range from 2 to 13 so it would like the following:
Patientid No. admissions Diag1 Diag2 Diag3
xxxx 3 zzzz ssss pppp

can anybody help?

Dear Sally
What you need is a pivot table. Select the 'Data' menu,
and select 'Pivot Table and Pivot Chart Report. Follow the
wizard and put the pivot table on a new worksheet.
Put 'Patientid' as a row field and 'Diagnosiscode' as a
column field and 'dateof Admission' as the data item, and
make sure that it is showing as a count of dateof Admission
