displayed content is lost in Word Document

I'm taking an online course, and when I went to open someone's word doc a
message about "converting" came up. I clicked yes and now I can't see anyones
word document. I can open the file but NO CONTENT IS DISPLAYED, ITS A BLANK
DOCUMENT. Someone please help me!!!

Get them to send you the document again (or recover it again from the
original message). Save it to your hard drive then open it from there. If
there is a conversion warning it is either corrupt or not a Word document.

Thanks for your help...It turns out that the school temoparily lost access to
submitted files located in their portal. So everytime I tried to resave the
document even on my desktop, it came up blank. Thankfully they resolved this
matter in about 1 to 1/2 hour. All is well.
