My windows based programs are display on a 90 degree
angle. When I boot up the microsoft logo appears correct
but the my desktop is rotated. How do I get it back to
normal? I have run a virus scan and have changed
monitors.

There will be a place you can change the rotation settings in the
Display applet in Control Panel. It might be on the Adapter tab and in
Advanced, but it will be there. Change the rotation back to normal.
