Display thumbnail of .ico & .bmp

Hello,
On my system I get the default icon for .ico and .bmp files. These are
16x16 & 24x24 bitmaps. Any way to get Windows to display the acutall icon
or bitmap instead of the generic one in Explorer?
 
Naturally the way to figure something out is to post a message.
The usual options were not available because the folder was in a zip
archive...
