Display folders & files

I have a number of image folders all with varying numbers of files in them
and am trying to work out how to display the folders (poss using a tree
view) and then to display a clickable thumbnail of each image in whichever
folder is selected. Any help would be much appreciated.

There are a number of very good 3rd party controls which will do most of
your work for you.

I've heard nGallery is very good, although I've not used it.

Onyxia (http://www.onyxia.se/) was very easy to use, and very good
looking with sexy Ajax, although I found it took too long to resize the
selected image.

There's lots of others out there as well

If you want to write your own gallery, a cool way of creating thumbnails
on the fly can be found at

Just some random tit-bits from when I did a vaguely similar thing a few
months ago!!
