Display fill color

I am running Excel 2002 on a Gateway 200 laptop and
cannot get Excel to display fill colors in cells. I can
see colored text.

If I do a print preview can see the fill color. Am I
missing a display option in Excel someplace?

The high contrast setting may be turned on. There's information in the
