Display Dim

Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help with this.

All of a sudden my display seems to have gone dim on my lcd monitor (not a
laptop), I'm using Vista64 Ultimate. I know the display is ok as I can let
my Nvidia driver control it and it is at normal brightness when I do this.

I've tried a restore point to before when this seemed to happen but I'm at a
loss as to what to do, I've tried the color mixer in the Window Color and
Appearance options but with it set to default with the brightness slider up
it is still dim.

Any help/suggestions would be gratefully received

Thanks in advance
Eddy

Doesn't sound like a Windows problem.

Make sure all cables and cords are securely connect. You might also open the
computer's case and make sure the video card (and any other card etc.) is
firmly seated in its socket. Most monitors have some sort of button on the
front to open an adjustment control. You might reset the monitor to factory
defaults.

Thanks for your advice.

I've found the problem which may be of interest to some one else.

I play a lot of online games and use a minimizer programmed which runs at
start up that lets me get back to the desktop whilst a game is still
running.
I must've had a crash but don't remember it happening, anyway the minimizer
remembers the gamma setting of the game and applies it when you go back in
to the game but in my case was using the setting on the desktop.

So silly me had to use the button in the minimizor that says reset windows
default gamma if you've had a game crash!

Thanks again for your response

Best Regards
Eddy
