Display after upgrade to windows xp

I have recently upgraded from windows 2000 to Windows XP.
My screen is now fuzzy and hard to read. I don't get the
option of setting my resolution to 256. My video driver
is ATI 3D RAGE 11C AGP. I have downloaded this driver
several times but still no luck. Any suggestions? I am
getting desperate.

Have you tried uninstalling the driver, rebooting and
then allowing XP to find the updated driver via your
internet connection. I was having trouble installing the
updated ATI driver which was causing high CPU usage and
low frame rates in Media Player. The above steps worked
for me.
