Display a multi-valued field across instead of down

i would like to display a field in the header, but since it can often have
multiple values i would like to display it across instead of down to save
room. i figured out a way when printing only 1 report (using a counter and a
crosstab) but it does not work when printing this report for an entire
department's projects at once (can't get the counter to start over again with
a new project number). i'm using Access 2003.

Multi-value fields, aka Complex Data, were not supported by Access until
version 2007. Thus, it is not clear what data you have, nor how it is
organized. And, the rest of the post does not clarify. Perhaps with
details of what data you have, how it is organized, and how you are trying
to "display it across then down" in the header, someone could offer useful
suggestions.
