i hope there is a simple way i can figure out not just the total number of
email in a folder/tree in windows mail, but the total file size. i wish to
confirm if there are any size limit that windows mail can support before it
fails.

Its very robust with the messages now being stored separately from the
database. I've tested with 300,000 messages in one folder.

Needless to say, your test folder was larger than 100 MG. :-)

:I overstated. I tested with 132,000 messages not 300,000.

Well a "folder" in WinMail is a directory of eml files. Its 1.2 gigabytes
with those messages.
