not sure yet.

but sometimes
installing a secondary
operating system, can
screws up the system
and give you that error.

the next step is to repair
the operating system.

you mentioned that your
windows cd didn't work,
but not sure if you simply
meant you were unable to
boot with it.

go into you bios/cmos and
ensure your computer is
set to boot from the cd
instead of the harddrive.

then reboot with the cd.

if windows begins to
install the setup files,
then your pc may be
recoverable.

let us know if you are
able to boot with your
cd.

yes i have tried to boot with the cd but nothing happens i get a blank screen
i have gone into bios and changed the options so it boots with the cd but
even that doesnt do anything and i havent recently installed anything on it??

well,

if your cd is not
booting and you
can not access the
harddrive, then there
may be little options.

but if both devices are
not working, then we
could look for a common
denominator.

common denominators
include the cmos/bios,
motherboard and power
supply.
-------------------------
inside your cmos/bios
there should be a line
somewhere where the
harddrive stats are
reported like its size.
also, it might refer to
your harddrive as
disk 0 or hd1 or something
similar.

does it indicate a harddrive?

also, there should be a time
displayed in there too. is
the time correct?

Will you let it go already? The OP said his hard drive isn't visible in
the BIOS.

Saeed - If the hard drive isn't seen in the BIOS, either the hard drive
has died and/or the drive controller on the motherboard has died. This
is a hardware issue and messing about with operating systems - Windows
or Linux - will do nothing to help.

If you have the skill and equipment, you can remove the laptop's hard
drive and test to see if only the hard drive has failed and the
motherboard is OK. If you don't have the skill (or desire) to do this:

1, If the laptop is still under warranty, your next step should be to
contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for repair/replacement.

2. If the laptop is not under warranty, your next step should be to take
the machine to a local computer shop and have them do the testing for
you. This will not be a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place. Ask
friends, family, colleagues for recommendations.

well, since the bios
cannot see a functional
harddrive, then clearly
the harddrive has worn
out and you will need
a replacement.

harddrives are pretty
inexpensive now so
it might not be costly
for you to get a new
one. they are larger,
faster and more reliable
now a days.

you didn't mention what
kind of computer you
have. but if it is new
then it may be under
warranty.

if it is an old computer,
then you should weigh
the option to simply
buy a new up to date
system.

do a little on line shopping
around for the harddrive
and for new systems so
you can get an idea of what
is available. here are some
suggestions:

http://www.outpost.com/
http://www.microcenter.com/index.html
http://www.newegg.com/
http://www.walmart.com/

in addition to shopping
around for possible upgrading,
go to the website that made your
pc and check out the exact
replacement part as well.

again, you seem un able to
comprehend that you can
submit your own suggestions
and methodology under
your own sub thread.

why is it so difficult for
you to understand this
simple concept or could
it be that you don't know
how to post your own
suggestions?

you profess to be an
mvp, but based on my
observations of your postings,
you are unable to maintain
a constant degree of professionalism.

it is rude to tailgate onto
someone else's suggestion
and provide and provide
remarks as if you were
in charge of this place or
me.

don't they teach you manners
in the country you are from.

clearly, it seems you have
learned to dis respectful
in this one, most valuable
unprofessional.

ps: for you information, the sub
posting which for some reason
you believe was your duty
to approve or to criticize was
an inadvertent resubmission.

[btw: and next time i see a posting
from you calling an op "stupid",
i will report you]
