My disk drive failed completely on my computer. I replaced it, and
installed Win2K Pro from the CD. It requests a CD with Service Pack 2, and
I don't have that CD. Is that available as a download from MS? Where do I
find it?

Phil

Hi Phil,

I'm guessing you are already booted into the OS & something you are
installing is asking for that CD. If so what you can do is copy the I386
folder from the Win2K CD to the root of your drive (typically C:\). Then
download SP2 (or SP4) & "slipstream" the service pack into that I386 folder.
When you get to the prompt for the CD w/ SP2 just point to that I386 folder
on you local drive.

Check out this link on how to slipstream a SP

Regards & Good Luck!

It appears to have been a glitch. Although I put the CD in the drive a
couple of times and clicked continue, it wouldn't find the file. Formatting
the drive and doing a reinstall did the trick.

Now I find that I don't have an ethernet driver for the ethernet card. Dang.
Now I can't connect to my LAN.

Yes, win2k didn't come w/ as many in-box drives (like xp/2k3)... just pull
the card if you don't know what it is, you should be able to check the
manufactures site for a driver, pop it on a floppy & there ya go...

Glad to hear you're up & running.

Mark
