Disk Defragmenter "Fail to Start" Error

I've just encountered a problem with Disk Defragmenter.
When I open it up and press "Analyse", I can get an
error "Disk Defragmenter could not start"... I was using
something called System Mechanic(before) and it had
a "Defrag" feature on it. I have since removed that
program and ever since the Windows Default Defrag does
not work...
Ay ideas ?

How large is your hard disk and how much free space?

Try running Disk CleanUp before running Disk Defragmenter including removing
System Restore points on the More options tab.
