Disk defragment wont run

I am using windows vista and when i try to run disk defragment all that
happens is that I get the warning box that says windows needs your permission
to continue.

When I click ok nothing happens please advise

Hi,

There is no graphical interface to defrag any longer, it runs as a low
priority system process via task scheduler. You should only get a box
telling you that it is already scheduler, with an additional option to
defrag now. Once initiated, there's nothing to see. Check Task Scheduler to
see that it is enabled.
