Run attached file. This removes the feature causing it to hang.

To undo type regsvr32 dataclen

And/or, check Knowledge Base Articles 812248 and 812930
(links provided below). They entail registry tweaks so
ensure you BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY first, but I just
performed the instructions and resolved the exact same
problem with great success. Enjoy! :

Basically, delete the key "Compress old files" at path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress Old Files
