Disk cleanup on XP

My computer has gotten soo slow! I went to "disk cleanup"
to remove excess files, but it won't go past 3 bars! I
have even left it running all night and it never
advances. I am especially slow on the internet (IE) . I
have run my virus scan several times (no virus found). It
is updated. I have defragged twice, still no help! Does
anyone know how I can get the disk cleanup program to
work?

hi, after doing ?????? on my computer (xp) , there comes up the following
after boot up :

BCCode : ce BCP1 : F6E3F380 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : F6E3F380
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 0_0 Product : 256_1

and it also says that system recovered from a serious error..
thing is everything works okay.

any clue on how i can fix this problem ?
