Disk clean-up

My disk clean-up facility isn't working and I have gone through two 'RUN' clean-up procedures but it stays frozen. What do I do - it has never worked since I bought the pc a year ago and I am filling up my hard drive..

Another question - can I dump prefetch files

I could not either but remembered to remove all the saved Restore Points by turning off System Restore and restarting the computer, then restarting the System Restore .Then Diskcheck started first time.
