Disk capacity confused

Steven Lyall

I have an 80Gb and a 200GB disk on my computer's 'IDE Host Controller' and
another 200GB SCSI disk on a 'Mass Sorage Controller'.

In My Computer, this 3rd disk shows as having 200Gb capacity, but with only
just over 100Gb stored, it shows only 30Gb left.

All disks are WD. When I ran WD's Lufeguard tools, I got a message saying
it was making an adjustmet to enable handling of disks above 137Gb, but I
still get this confused reporting.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven

What version of XP are you running? XP SP1 or SP2? You need at least SP1
installed in order for the 200GB hard drives to show up with their complete
capacity. The original XP does not support these large hard drives and they
usually show up like that,

Iy's SP2. The new Promise driver sorted it.
