Discussion forum results appearance

I created a discussion forum using FP2002. The results frame shows ALL
subjects and replies. Is there a way to modify the results frame to collapse
the replies that live under the subject titles? I would like a plus sign for
the user to click to expand the replies for that subject.
2nd question... Using the FP2002 wizard I told FP to create the results
frame on top of the submit frame. Can that be modified to put the results
frame on the left?
Thanks

#1 Not possible when using the FP Discussion Web component.

#2 You are limited to the option available in the dialog when you created the Discussion Web

Thanks Thomas for the answers. Suppose I will delete the discussion and
start over. Another question if I may... After using the wizard to create
the discussion I had no new web pages visible in the "navigation view".
However in the "folders view" I found several "disc" files, one named
"frameset". I created a link to that file on an existing page. Is that the
way it's done?
(I should point out that I added a discussion to an existing web)
Thanks, Dan Reid

The DW really should be added a subweb (if your host allows), so that during normal site updates,
post are not overwritten.

Yes, you would create a link to the frameset.

Thanks again Thomas...
Yes, makes sense about creating separate sub-web for the DW. The web in
question is already a subweb but seems to me that doesn't matter. Just link
from regular subweb to the DW.
Here goes another question.
I am unable to completely remove an old subweb from my host server. I am
able to delete every file and folder within this old subweb but can't delete
the main folder. I am trying to do this from "My Network Places" in WinMe.
Is this somewhat normal from your experience? Do I have to contact my host
and have them do it?
Thanks again - Dan Reid

You need to open the root web of your site directly in FP, then you can right click on the folder
and select delete.

Thomas you are fast. Before reading your reply I opened the old subweb (on
my computer) in FP2002. The only object left was the empty home folder if
that's the right word. Then from the EDIT menu I selected "delete". A
warning appeared and I selected remove entire web. This worked and the old
subweb no longer shows up when I browse the root web but all other subwebs
are intact.
After returning to this newsgroup and reading your reply I did open the
rootweb on the host and I do see all the subweb folders there and now
understand your method. I'm not sure why the old subweb home folder even
existed on my computer as I thought I had deleted everything pertaining to
that subweb. Obviously I am still learning. I started with FP98 and had
gotten fairly proficient creating basic webs. Then I upgraded to FP2000 and
I don't think I ever used it. I then upgraded to FP2002 and didn't use that
until a couple of weeks ago. So basically I jumped from 98 to 2002. It's a
much more user friendly application.
Thank you for the help, I'll likely be back.

Glad to hear you solve it.

I actually prefer to use FP2000 for development, as I have very little use for all of the new
features of FP2002 or FP2003. Both FP2002 and FP2003 are great upgrades for those that need the new
features.

Thomas, I have yet another question but will post it in the normal fashion
so others might benefit. It's about the search function in DWs.
