Disconnect firewall

B

Bernie.

Hello to you all, thanks for your interest.

I have printed the help in relationship to disabling the Firewall,
have navigated from the Control Panel, opened Network Connections have
clicked my dialup which then tries to dialup. Tried just highlighting
the dialup icon.

However there no Network Tasks tab or button to be seen, this tab or
icon is, according to "Help" the next step in the sequence? There is
certainly no Network Tasks option that I can find on the network
connections window or anywhere else. However i'm sure that it is
staring me in the face!

Maybe it has to do with being the computer administrator or not, I
have no idea if I am or notand the help on the subject makes
absolutely no sense to me!

WinXP Build 2600.

Thanks

Bernie

Right-click on the icon and choose "properties"

Hi

Try this:

Right-click on the connection, select Properties and then the Advanced tab.

While Gordon and Will have given you the answer to your problem I have one question. Why would you want to disable your firewall and leave your system open to attack from the internet? Using the firewall is one of the most important safety features of your OS. Especially in todays environment. If your internet provider has told you to disconnect it as it is causing problems he or she is wrong. Any problems you maybe encountering can be solved in other ways. Post back and let us know. {:~)
