Running out of disc space (177MB left on 6GB drive). Need to delete
unnecessary upgrade files. System upgraded from W2000 to XPPro. Is there any
way to tell XP you do not want to go back, and get rid of the upgrade files?
Windows folder has about 1GB of uninst folders accumulated. Need to know
which ones are safe to delete.

Some useful tools:
CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
Microsoft's Disk Cleanup Tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310312/en-us

Also SystemRestore files can eat up disk space:

Don't forget to Empty your recycle bin periodically.

As for those Un-install folders, you need to check each one by one, they
usually end with Microsoft's KB number.
If your system is stable you can remove most of Windows XP old (not recent)
Update folders.
Also See: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm from of Doug
Knox's web site.

You can lose the $uninstall$ files, but you really should look to getting a
larger drive, at the very least a 20gb..

We have a non-profit in our area with the highest paid CEO in the
area.
You are not able to work with what you have......
