disc clean up wont clean up!?

If I run disc clean up the box/window opens and you can
hear the hard drive clicking away, the window
shows "compress files" with the bar starting to build (it
gets to 3 green bits), and then goes no further.

Any ideas, anyone know a fix?

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
