Disaster recovery

How can i do disaster recovery on active directory DC with
ex2000 onto a different server off site if DNS is not on
the origial server but was installed on another DC in the
office LAN.
Have recovered the server from backup but because DNS
service was not installed originally AD can't find any
thing. DNS was integrated with AD. Any ideas
 
i would make the DC a dns server. The clients will not point to it because
they are setup to point at the other server by IP. You will still have a
copy of DNS but it really does nothing.
