Disappearing Numbers in Form

Hi,

We have a form that is laid out with form fields. When one of the people in
the office uses the form and prints it numbers appear next to certain lines
that do no show in the form view. So, her entries when printed are numbered.
We copied this to another persons file and this formatting doesn't seem to
have been carried over.

Can someone tell me what properties allow for this automatic numbering in
certain fields? Thanks

Go to File > Page Layout > Layout and you'll see a button for Line
Numbering. I believe that's used for legal work. Click the button and
uncheck the option to add numbers to each line.

Thanks for responding, but this isn't working. I have one section of the
form that appears to be a table. Only the fields placed within the table are
numbered and the numbers appear only when you print the document, but do not
show up as you are entering the data.

I don't want to remove the numbers I want to add them to the document that
was saved into another persons folder.

Okay, well the only other thing I can think of is that you have some
numbering set within the cells and may have them set to hidden? Select
the area and click Tools > Options > View and/or Tools > Options >
Print and check the viewing and printing settings for HIDDEN TEXT. You
can also look closely at the text on the screen to see if there is a
very tiny dotted line under the numbers, which designate hidden text
being displayed.
