disappearing mouse pointer (ghost)!

please advise?
my mouse pointer disappears occasionaly. i can work it
still, as items still highlight when i move around my
mouse-pad.
it is like a ghost effect.
ps.
once it has started ghosting, it doesnt re-appear until
rebooted.

Tried updating your mouse & video drivers? Does it happen only when a
certain app is running?

also, it only seems to happen when i am on the net.

How is your PC telling you that? The video driver is updated like any
other - by visiting the manufacturer's web site or by being prompted
when going to WinUpdate.

Have you tried looking for a new mouse driver on line, though? The
computer is only able to access the best mouse driver from the
selections it has.
