BEWARE !! Just lost a huge folder in Outlook 2007 Beta 2. The folder simply
vanished with several years of archived messages. Fortunately, we had a
backup and lost only a few messages. Don't get too comfortable with the
product yet, hope this big issue is addressed before the program ships! Not
good when huge folders simply vanish!

Bug?
If so, provide steps to repro.
No such bug exists. Now's your chance to prove it does. Until then, it's end
user error.

Hello Russ,

Like many things that vanish, they can also reappear! I located the missing
folder nested several levels down inside another folder. I have some
suspicions as to how it got there, but as you suggest, will have to test them
to confirm whether it is user error or an actual bug. Initially, we had
selected an email, with a fairly large 8MB attachment, sitting in our inbox.
All of a sudden it disappeared from the inbox at the end of the download. We
found that it had been automatically migrated by the system to the Junk Mail
folder for some reason. We then moved the email from the Junk Folder, using
the context menu, to another folder nested several levels down inside a root
folder. During that move operation is when the parent root folder, including
the nested destination folder, disappeared. We found the parent folder
nested inside of a completely unrelated folder that had never been accessed
during the operation. Not impossible that it is operator error, but so far
we have not been able to identify any point during the operation where this
transition could have been inadvertently initiated. So this issue may take
some testing!

I can only tell you that no such bug exists in Outlook 2007.
Let us know what your testing reveals.
