Disappearing Favorites Icons

I know they arn't needed, but the nice little icons which display next to some websites when you add them to Favorites keep disappearing
They display when the link is new, but if I go out of my browser they vanish into thin air, never to be seen again !

Any suggestions folks ???

They are stored in the Temporary Internet Files, when you delete these
files, you delete the icons, they're called favicons.
