Disappeared Program file list

75% of the programs previously listed under "All Programs"
sub-menu from the Start menu have disappeared, although
the applicatiosn .exe are in their original folders in the
Program Files directory. ALso missing are access to things
like Administrative Tools.

Any ideas what happened, and how to restore the menus to
previous state

It seems as if you have a policy in use that prevents you
from seing / using several of your programs.

Try using the system administration tool for group and
user policies.
