Disabling the "table id" function

John

Yeah I know that you're supposed to be able to disable this through
Tools/Page Options uncheck "Assign unique IDs to new tables" but mine
keeps rechecking every time I close out of FP. Any suggestions ?

Tools | Page Options | General - you'll see where to turn it off. But, any
already applied you'll have to remove manually.

Been there done that. Unfortunately it keeps re-enabling itself after
closing and re-opening the web. And note that is a FP web. Not just a
directory of HTML pages. Long story there ;>)

It's due to a quirk in FP that recognizes you have Excel installed so it will always add the table ids

A general comment about the table id auto-function:

I used to hate it, too, until the usefulness of it became clear in CSS &
Accessibility issues. Now I appreciate how easy it is to apply formatting
and other attibutes by simply modifying the tag. However, tables are
becoming obsolete in these days of XHTML & CSS; read
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/practicalcss/ as an example of why. Until
your page passes as at least XHTML 1.0 Transitional at
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.legacy-photo.com &
http://www.contentquality.com/mynewtester/cynthia.exe?rptmode=2&url1=http://www.legacy-photo.com/ -
I would consider paying less attention to design and more attention to
compliance. HTML 4.0 Transitional is very much on the way out. Good luck.
