Disabling SHIFT Bypass Key for Users, but Not Network Administrators

G

Ghulam

I am using an Access 2k ADP (Converted into ADE) front end and SQL 2K o
the backend. Although I taught pretty much myself into these concep
with the help of some publications and users group posts, some time
would like to seek some specific help from fellow members.

My Question is: Is there any way I can disable Shift Bypass key fo
regular Network users but enable that privilege to Networ
Administrator Groups? Our Network Administrators are members o
(Domain1\Administrators).

I do have a startup from (From Login) that takes the users directl
into the Program. But they can still bypass it by Clicking Shift Doubl
Click. I would like to see When regular Network Users login to th
Database, regardless of which special key they press, they will ge
right into the Startup Form but Network Administrators can access th
Design mode by Clicking (Shift Double Click).

Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Thank

The problem here is that you need to make the decision before the shif
key is pressed. If you use the shift key properly (before the startu
is run) you don't have any method of stopping it. What I think you ma
have to do is create your own Security groups in Access.

What I have done is the past is to set off all startup options and the
look at the environ("USERNAME") variable to determine who is using th
program and then reset the options accordingly
