Disabling Service Pack 2

I know the disabling SP2 tool expires on 12 April, and this will force
Automatic Updates to download & install SP2.

I also know that Windows Update will install SP2 after 12 April, even if you
have the disabling tool installed/configured.

My question is, will you be able to decline SP2 from Windows Update, after
12 April, or will it force you to install?

Also, there's a rumour going round my office that after 12 April, you won't
be able to install any updates (using Windows Update) if you don't have SP2
installed. Is there any truth in this, or is it just a misunderstanding.

Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere - I did a search of
the newsgroups & couldn't find anything about this.

Thanks

A. The information you sited is 100% false. Only those who do not
have SP1 or SP2 installed will not be able to receive future Updates.
Although SP2 will be offered as a critical update, it will not be
automatically downloaded nor installed until you accept the SP2
End-User License Agreement presented to you.

If you wish, your can order a free SP2 CD:
