Disabling local Outlook.exe for VPN

In my office, we are trying to configure laptops for both LAN and VPN use.
We want the users to be able to use the local Outlook while connected via
LAN, and force them to use Outlook via Citrix when connected via VPN. Anyone
know of any way to complete this? Thanks for any assistance/feedback.

Set up different HW profiles (KB Article 308577) or different PC Login ID's.
One with Outlook (and anything else you want to run through citrix) enabled
and one disabled.

Alternately, you can have a script running that prevents outlook.exe from
launching if it does not see an ip address in a specific range.
Unfortunately I am not a scripting guru.

Your solution depends on how reliable the users would be about switching
profiles.
