Disabling explorer drop down boxes? How?

I am using my friends computer, for example.. I'll search for something like
'apples and oranges', and when i try and search for something that starts
with 'a' again, 'apples and oranges' will show in an automatic shortcut
dropdown box. Is there anyway I can disable this? Because I don't want my
friend to see everything I've been looking up when she makes a search.
