Disabled computer accounts?

I have recently removed 2 domain controllers via DC promo. the process went smoothly. I had removed them from the domain after the dcpromo down and did not recieve any errors. However, the 2 computer accounts are now in the computers container and are disabled. This was last week

Why were the account objects not removed from the directory

Because DCPromo doesn't remove a DC from a domain, it removes Active Directory
from the computer, the machines are still part of the domain itself. Then if you
unjoin the machines they will disable the computer accounts. Computer accounts
are never automatically deleted in AD, you need to clean them up manually.
