Disable Switch User

Is it possible in Vista to disable the switch user option and get the old
login box back with a CTRL-ALT-DEL

With Switch user you are able to see all the active usernames and I do not
want this to be the case?

TIA for any help

I asked this question a few weeks ago and got no response of any value. I
will be lurking to see if you get any responses of value.

Good luck!

In the start search box or run box, type 'secpol.msc' without the quotes.
Accept the UAC prompt.

In the tree in the left pane, open:
Local Policies
Security Options

Click Security Options, scroll the right pane down half way. Those policies
listed as "interactive logon:" are what you are interested in.

Right click on the ones you want, click properties, enable/disable, click
ok.

I think you want to disable "interactive logon: do not require ctrl + alt +
del" and "interactive logon: do not display last user name".

I think I have found the solution - Strange after looking for days and then
you post something and think of the solution soon after...

try this

gpedit.msc / Windows Settings / Local Policies / Security options / Do not
display last username = enabled

and just underneath - Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL = disabled

You can still have multiple users logged in but you do not get to see all
the usernames when you do a "switch user" you have to push CTRL+ALT+DEL type
the username and password - best I can come up with so far.

Hope that is OK for you.

Robert,

Seems like Ray figured it out too... glad to know this is possible after a
few queries by myself and others returned no answers.
