Disable Linked Files Prompt

I have multiple documents that use the same header and footer which changed often, so I created a separate document for the header and footer and made a link to all the other documents so that updates on the header and footer would be pushed to all the other documents. The problem I am having (not really a problem, just annoying) is when you open one of the other documents, you get a prompt "This document contains links that may refer to other files. Do you want to update this document with the data from the linked files?" I have selected Auto Update under the link options, but I still get this message. How do I disable this prompt and have the links update automatically?

Hi,

A document is something that you use to store information and print
information in a given format. Opening it means you want to add to it or
make other permanent changes to it.

A template is a pattern for a document, which includes text,
headers/footers, styles. It also can have macros, special toolbars, keyboard
customizations, and AutoText.

What you are describing seem to be being used as templates, even though they
are documents. Is this guess correct? (If it is, I have different
suggestions than I would have for true documents.)
