disable Flip 3D

How can I disable Flip 3D? I never use it and I don't want to expend the
memory to maintain it.
 
Simple: delete the Flip 3D icon in your quick launch, never press Windows
key + Tab. If you want to take it even further, simply enable the Windows
Classic theme.

That won't work on Home versions which don't have the Group Policy controls.
