When I use graphics programs in Windows XP, e.g. the Paint program, file >
open defaults to listing files in thumbnail view. Even if I set it to e.g.
details, next time I use file > open, it's back at thumbnail view.

Is there a Windows XP setting I can make (registry perhaps?) to disable this
behaviour, e.g. to make it default to details instead?

Thanks.

Open any folder in My Computer and set it to the view you
like best.
Then go to Tools->Folder Options and then click on View
Click the button that says "Set all folders to current
view"

Well, I tried that, clicking "Apply to all folders" (there's no "Set all
folders to current
view" but it makes no difference to the file > open dialog. It still keeps
reverting to thumbnail view every time I do file > open in graphics programs
such as mspaint.

Does it work for you?
