Is there a way to disable the ability to add words to the dictionary in spell
check and force the user to either choose change or ignore? I want only the
database administrator to be able to add words to the dictionary.

Help!

Hi Sarah,

Depending on your operating system, you might be able to set read only permissions for one of the
following files:

For Office 97
C:\WINNT\MSO97.acl

For Office 2000 and XP (2002)
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl

where UserName is the NT logon ID if you are using Windows 2000/XP.

Please note that this newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's part
of Office Professional.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. Sorry about posting in the wrong place - I
need this for an Access database and wasn't thinking about Spell Check being
a feature for all of Office.

Thanks again.
