Directx feature not available for video card

I installed a ATI all-in-wonder video card and I cannot
get the TV portion to work. The help section tells me to
go to start--run---type in dxdiag and enable Directx
features under the displayed tab. BUT..... it teels me
the features are not avaiable. I have no choice between
enable and disable because they are not avaiable. How can
I get the directx features to be available? I used the
install cd which came with the card, but no luck.

Try updating DirectX to 9.0c. Go to www.microsoft.com/directx and
download and install it. Then see if that option is there. If not, try
updating your ATI Drivers (which I doubt will fix it in this case, but
it's worth a shot) from www.ati.com and click on the drivers in the
bottom left. Finally, right click on the desktop, click properties,
click Settings Tab, click Advanced, click Troubleshoot and make sure
Hardware Accceleration is set to full and enable write combining. If
none of that fixes it, post back ;)

The "no TV" problem is normally caused by failing to uninstall all the
ATI software before installing the latest update. Yes, it's a pain to
uninstall the video driver and revert to a "generic VGA desktop"
briefly. Don't ask me why ATI's software is so picky about the update
process - it just is. The instructions provided with the software do
say that you must do it exactly this way, but it's not the usual
update process, and the installer doesn't complain if you haven't
uninstalled the previous version.

HERE FOLLOW THE EASY SOLUTION TO FIX THIS PROBLEM

Open Windows Registry (START > Regedit). Then go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Direct3D\Drivers
and search for the "SoftwareOnly" or "EmulationOnly" key, and set it from "1" to "0".

That's all; doing this you got all three DirectX features enabled solving any related problem.
