DirectX download fails Windos logo testing

S

Steve

I am attempting to install DirectX 9.0b but keep getting
the error message "The software you are installing has
not passed Windows logo testing to verify its
compatability with windows XP."
After many phone calls and hours upon hours of contact
woth Microsoft, they are no help at all as they have no
idea what this is or how to fix it.

Does anybody out there know how to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

I had the same problem and after many hours of research stumbled across some
advice to make sure "Cryptographic Services" was enabled and started (you
can find it under Administrative tools/services).

That did it for me - hope it helps you as well.

Never mind I just reread the post. Im sorry. I did have
it enabled and it still didnt work for me. Why in the
world would microsoft host a program to DL and its not
even signed?
