I am new to WindowsXP. I tried to read a CD-RW from an older machine and
....somehow...directCD drivers got installed. Now everytime I reboot I get an
error message in the lower righthand portion of the task bar:

"Devices or applications disabled
DirectCD will cause windows to become unstable
Windows has prevented these drivers from loading.

When I click "here" I get amessage fro Microsoft Help and a link to a patch
at Roxio.com which is not functional--takes me to the product description for
Easy CD creator 8.

I called Roxio. they had me download Roxizap.exe which according to a
"supposed" microsoft knowledge base report would eliminate all traces of
Roxio on my system.

Didn't work...

I'd really like to get rid of this message....please help. Any suggestions
would be welcome.

thanks
