Direct3D Test (in DirectX Diagnostic Tool)

I try to run the Direct3D Test from the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and it
cancels the test saying I pressed a key. I never touch anything, does anyone
know what is happening? This problem is also causing me to have to reboot to
play certain games because it constantly switches back to windows after I
open the game. Please help. Thanks.
