Direct X and system kock-ups

Can any one help me with this one?
most of my games crash (usually on the menu or when no
action is occurring i.e. dialogue). It's so bloody
frustrating, I downloaded patches and drivers.
my specs might by your only clue to figure this out cause
I'm done my brain is fried..
specs:

CPU celeron 1 ghz
512 DDR ram
Radeon 9000 pro 128 meg video (Omega 2.5.22 driver)
Sound Blaster audigy (5.12.0001.0441) driver
40 gig HD
Direct X 9.0b

Can you post a dxdiag report of your system and the names of some of the
games you are having problems with?

DXDIAG:
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type "dxdiag" without the quotes and press Ok.
3. In the DirectX Diagnostic tool click "Save All Information..."
