I have installed the demo version of a game on my
computer...things seemed to be fine with capabilities etc
when installed. When I went to actually play the demo, I
got a pop up that said..."could not find any Direct3D
devices with the required capabilities. Make sure you have
current drivers for your video card." Can anyone help me
with this? System (dell dimension) is only a year old...is
there a download I need...maybe a java script or
something. Windows Updates on Microsoft site has no
driver updates when scanned. Many thanks in advance.

Go to Start/Run and type: dxdiag and press OK. This will open the
DirectX diagnostics utility. Click the Display Tab and look in the DirectX
Features section for the Direct 3d entry. Make sure that it shows as Enabled
there. If it is enabled, select the Test Direct 3d button to test the
acceleration. Be patient while the test runs, the screen may go blank for a
few seconds. This test will tell you whether or not the installed video card
and drivers support the Direct 3d capabilities.
