Din to Componet V's DVI to Componet Adaptor whats best for picture
Quality ???

Ive got a 6600 Gt and i have got my HD Tv connected via the Din to
componet. The quality is pretty good but still a little bit of a let
dopwn compared to what the quality of the HD wmv and divx HD thrailers
and stuff i have. Though i suppose thats the best expected.

But i would like to know if i can get some extra quality with a DVI to
Componet connection or i should not bother. Iam not sure what DIN is
and the quality i shoudl expect from it. But iam just not getting the
crispness iam getting from the monitor when playing the HD clips.

Thanks for any help.

What's the native resolution of your TV? Most have 768 or fewer horizontal
lines where a good monitor can easily handle 1080.

"DIN" is just the German standards body--a "DIN" connector is one that
conforms to one of their standard designs, and can carry any kind of
signalling--all the "DIN to component" adapter does is carry the component
out from your video board, which is presented on a DIN connector, to the
standard connection type used on HDTVs.

The only DVI to Component adapters of which I am aware are transcoders,
which can be crappy, OK, or excellent depending on the quality--a pro-grade
transcoder should give you output as good as your TV is capable of
producing, but it will probably cost more than the TV, and the inexpensive
adapters with a few dipswitches on them, which are designed specifically
for certain specific models of ATI video board that are made to work with
such an adapter--they are either the ATI brand adapter repackaged or clones
of it.

I would not expect any noticeable difference in quality - both are
sending analog(ue) signals.
If you have HDCP or DVI-I and a display that can use the digital signal, the
quality *might*
improve - depending also on whether the limitations are in the card or the
display. Those
details you have to work out yourself, I guess.
