digital copyright error

I'm having a really annoying problem trying to play the interactive
features on movie DVD's. I have an Aopen dvd1648/bkh dvd player, using
PowerDVD. I can play movies fine with PowerDVD (and other software DVD
players I had previously installed, but have now cleaned out of the
system), no problems or errors on any disc I've tried.

However, when I try to use the interactive features that use the
Interactual player, I get a CSS copyright error.

The Interactual player uses DirectShow to play the DVD. Interactual
tech support told me to type DVDPLAY in the "start --> run" interface.
I did, and it came up with a digital copyright protection error. The
Interactual 'system profiler' isn't showing any obvious codec errors.

I also have Nero 5 installed on this computer for my cdrw.

I have a region 1 dvd player, trying to play region 1 dvd's (no
copies, just originals).

And I have the latest version of DX9 installed. It seems to run fine,
and the DX Diagnostic program shows no errors.

And the system has an Nvidia GF4ti4200 vid card. Not sure about which
version number of the drivers is installed, but it should be the
latest version.

Any suggestions on how I can track down the cause of the error? The
whole point of getting a dvd player for our PC was to use the
interactive features on the DVDs, so it's pretty much a waste of money
if this is the one thing I can't do with the player.

Thanks,
LG
