Difftime error?? What is it, how do I get rid of it?

Hello folks. I have a Dell P3 machine, XP Pro O/S. Starting today, there is a small error box that keeps re-appearing on my screen, it says ERROR Difftime, and then a small "OK" button. It's a very small box, maybe 1" square
It doesn't seem to be doing anything except appearing. I can close it or click OK, and it will go away, but then it keeps coming back every 2-3 minutes

Reboot made no difference.

What is this, and how can I fix it

please cc my email account: (e-mail address removed)

thanks

I have it too on my system. I've noticed that crcss.exe is also
running sometimes. crcss.exe shows up in the Registry
under Internet Explorer -> Explorer Bars

I've got it too. It started in relation to a trojan obtained by clickin
a link on a bogus email... something about an ecard.

Norton pegged the trojan as it was downloaded but was not able to fi
it. The difftime error started immediately after.

A subsequent check with Mcaffee found something which it identified th
VBS/psyme trojan and deleted it, however I would guess that it was som
variant of the virus as it really didn't fit the profile for thi
particular bug.

difftime is a visual basic command. Apparently the trojan dropped som
VB nasties on the computer which are trying to run but contain a
error... hence the difftime error window.

Mcafee has a new virus listed on their site which sounds like it migh
be it VBS/Lucave however I haven't been able to find the VBS payload
on the machine. I have also not had time to update the mcafee DAT file
and rescan to see if it will find it. I'll let you know if it works..
although I don't have a lot of confidence.

Basically I haven't found the problem files on the machine and haven'
gotten any virus software to pick them up either. I'm on the verge o
wiping the machine and reinstalling... as the gateway tech suppor
recommended after giving the issue all of 10 seconds consideration..
but obviously I would really rather fix the damn problem.

If anyone is able to find the mystery VB file, or otherwise fix thi
problem please let me know. I would greatly appreciate some help
